Sunday the 30th October 2022 shall be our Covenant Family Day and shall double as our End of Month Thanksgiving Service.
SERVICE TIMES:
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19) KJV
For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. (Isaiah 62:1-3) KJV
"So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family" -[Ephesians 2:19 (NLT)]
What is a family?
In our world today, there is an ongoing effort to redefine what the family should be but according to Genesis 2:21-24, the family is composed of one man and one woman. Into such a union, children may then be born or adopted to form an extended family. In the Christian faith, there exists something like the family God. This is what next Sunday Service will be all about.
A Divine Initiative:
In Acts 10, the Bible discloses a divine set-up that led to Cornelius, becoming the first Gentile to be welcomed into God's Great Family. This divine drama began when God Himself simultaneously gave a divine invitation to Cornelius; and a divine preparation for Apostle Peter. Their collective responses, catalogued in verses 1-20 culminated in a great salvation.
Even when we have concluded the Operation Rescue 2019 Mission, there are still lots of Cornelius in our neighborhood. They possibly look and act good, may even be considered spiritual but the fact is that they have never made Jesus their Lord and personal savior.
God is consistently reaching out to persons in this category. His eyes run throughout the whole earth. He is seeking for the lost and He is sending us as his ambassadors to reach out to the lost souls by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them so that they too can be saved. He seeks after lost sheep in order to make them a part of His wonderful family!
The New Testament catalogues how God sent Jesus to this earth to seek and save the lost and pay for our sins on the cross. In the book of Acts, He sent the apostles everywhere to make disciples of everyone. The sound of the rushing wind on the day of Pentecost was a call out to the crowds. The Scriptures is rife with divine initiatives to reach out to humanity and make them part of God's family.
From sending His power to heal the lame man at the gate of the beautiful temple which led to thousands of conversions, to sending an angel to rescue the apostles from jail so they could resume preaching in the temple, sending Philip where he met the Ethiopian that made way for the message of Jesus to reach out to the upper Nile; and the amazing conversion of Saul of Tarsus, it is evident that God is in the seeking, sending, sharing and saving business!
The story of Acts 10 began when God sent an angel to Cornelius, and a vision and a message to Peter. By divine programming, both the seeker (Cornelius) and the speaker (Peter) were prepared for the unfolding divine drama. He did then. He still does today.
During the time in question, there existed an extremely wide gap between Jews and Gentiles and Cornelius was pure Gentile. To worsen an already bad situation, Cornelius was a Roman Centurion who resided in the land of Israel. It took the grace of God to welcome a man like that into God's family; not even when it involved a good Christian Jew like Peter.
All things being equal, Peter would never have made that visit, yet God Himself prepared Peter to present the gospel to Gentiles via direct revelations to Peter and angelic instructions to Cornelius
The Great Family of God is in the Making:
Just as Cornelius got incorporated into the family of God, in this season of Operation Rescue, God has interrupted time and space and has enlisted us all in the Winners' World as ambassadors of hope, life, forgiveness, and salvation. We are to take the gospel to the streets, the malls, the parks and everywhere man is.
All member of our family as members and New Converts shall be brought under the blessing of Abraham, which covers our generations after us. Everything that represents a curse on anyone’s family or lineage shall be rooted out and turned into testimonies.
Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude, especially to almighty God. One of the great commandments is to give thanks to God, for all he has done for us. According to Psalm 100:4, we are to “enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his Courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name”.
It is also giving thanks to God for many blessings which should not be limited to only good times but also bad times thereby giving us the opportunity to demonstrate our faith in God.
Thanksgiving is a very important subject in the Bible. There are numerous scriptures on thanksgiving in both the Old Testament and in the New Testament.
The Book of Psalm in particular is full of such verses.
The New Testament also contains similar verses on thanksgiving such as:
BENEFITS OF THANKSGIVING:
So Jesus answered and said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?
Luke 17:17-18 (NKJV)
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations
Psalm 100:4-5 (NKJV)
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you
1 Thess 5:18 (NKJV)
The LORD is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust in him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
Ps 28:7 (NLT)
Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry; I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. Their children also shall be as before, and their congregation shall be established before Me; and I will punish all who oppress them.
Jer 30:19-20 (NKJV)
In these services, there shall be an unusual release of our pre-shiloh encounter blessings via the the word of God. After your divine encounter in these services, expect the manifestation of Divine encounters in your marriage, business, family, career, education etc. Come and experience God's presence like never before.
Everyone is admonished to come with at least two new souls in addition to their new converts and other invitees.
Remain ever blessed!
Jesus is Lord!
